Wologizi FC Gains Promotion To 1st Division; Confirms Champions Of The 2nd Division

Lofa County-based 2nd division club Wologizi FC has gained promotion to the First Division and is mathematically confirmed as the champion of the 2024/2025 League Season.

It followed after their 7-1 thrashing of Mighty Enforcers FC at the D-Tweh field on Bushord Island.

The league’s leading scorer, Francis Doe’s four goals and a brace from Maxwell Kelleh, followed by Sylvanus Momodu’s lone goal, ensured Coach Jasper Benflix archived his mandate.

The Wologizi boys are 13 points ahead of 2nd place Jubilee FC with four games to climax this edition of the league.

At the start of the season, Coach Jasper Benflix was given a mandate to qualify the club for the first league.

With the current status, his mandate has been archived with honor due to the number of goals scored and fewer goals conceded so far.

In 26 matches, Wologizi FC won 21, lost three, drew two, scored 75 goals, and conceded 25, with 50 goals standing and 65 points.

Their nearest challengers, Jubilee FC, drew 3-3 with Pags FC on Wednesday at the SKD practice pitch, confirming the title.

The draw moved Jubilee FC on 52 points and 13 points behind Wologizi FC.

In other results of matches played on Wednesday, NPA Anchors beat Junior Professionals 2-0, while Garnersville FC came up with a 3-2 win over Philadelphia Lonestar in an entertaining encounter.

Nimba Kwado and Margibi FC settled to a 0-0 draw as Sinoe NPA and Gompa FC drew 1-1 at JE Greene’s sports pitch.
