Liberia’s first win in 2018 WAFU competition

Monrovia- Liberia on Thursday defeated Guinea Bissau 2-1 in the ongoing West African Football Union (WAFU) tournament at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex in Paynesville City.

The win puts Liberia U20 team in a comeback position following a three zero defeat from Ivory Coast.

Liberia is expected to battle Sierra Leone in a decider match Saturday at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex.

Both teams are tie with three points and a win for either side will settle score for a place in the semifinals along with Ivory Coast.

The head Coach of Junior Lone star Christopher Wreh, following their win on Thursday applauded the players for the victory.

He wants the Liberia Football Association beef up support for the junior team ahead of the match on Saturday.

 

Responding to the Junior Team Coach, LFA Vice President for Administration, Sekou Konneh committed his institution willingness to support the team.

Konneh wants Coach Wreh refrain from engaging the media over internal issues confronting the team and champion them through the LFA.
