The Houses decision was triggered by a communication from Bong County District Five Representative Edward Karfiah.

Representative Karfiah revealed that the aggrieved Freeport Workers alleged that sections and provisions of the concessions agreement were violated.

According to him, the aggrieved workers cited the breach of section five of the agreement as well as article 8 of the 1986 constitution.

Commenting further the lawmaker revealed that the entity is depriving Liberians the right to do stevedoring and that APM Terminal is not living up to its cooperate social responsibility.

In the wake of the Bong County District Five Representative assertion,  series of complaints have been raised against APM Terminal and BIVAC over alleged bad labor practices at the Free Port.
