Minister Fahngon said the president was never bankrupt before ascending to the presidency.

According to the deputy minister, President Weah’s son plays for Paris Saint Germain, furthering that his wife is a former banker.

The government deputy spokesman mentioned that Dr. Weah earned millions of dollars during his footballing career, and so he’s capable of building homes from his personal account.

Fahngon said anybody in Liberia can easily build a house, therefore

”Let me make this clear that in Liberia, anybody can build a house. now, you are talking about people that were once millionaires. President Weah’s son plays for Paris Saint Germine, his wife was a banker. This man own houses before, this man was paid millions before and remembered he took sponsored and took care of this Country (Liberia) before! so, they need to be serious,” he said.

The Deputy Information Minister recently posted on his social media page, informing the public that there had been significant reduction in the price of commodities on the Liberian Market.

Those who followed the post, including marketers vented out their anger, terming the information as true.

But speaking on this matter, Fahngon maintained that the reduction in tariffs has led to the reduction prices on the market.

Fahngon said he paid 60 Liberian dollars for six pieces of chicken feet recently.

“What I was trying to project out there is that when the US rate was astronomical, 160, 165, chicken feet was like two to three for $50 Liberian dollars; and now with the reduction in tariffs, over two thousand basic commodities, forty percent reduction in tariffs, were are beginning to see an improvement.

They disturbingly went on social media and say he does not understanding” no I do! and again I bought a pile of pepper for $25 dollars, a cow skin for $65 dollars. so people want to talk but can not check the facts, Fahngon added”

The minister further said he eats a board of cook food for 100 Liberian dollars while at work daily.

He made the statement on the OK Conversation (OK FM 99.5) on Tuesday, October 9,2018.
