Liberian Police Investigates Sudden Death of Rep. Adolph Lawrence and Gwendolyn Wilson

The Liberian National Police says it is continuing with its investigation into the death of Representative Adolph Lawrence of Montserrado County District#15.

Representative Lawrence early Monday morning died in a tragic motor accident near Tower Hill Community in Margibi County.

The fallen Montserrado County Lawmaker was on his way from the celebration of his 50th birthday at the home of his wife, Senator Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County.

Police Spokesman Moses Carter mentioned that one other person riding with the lawmaker identified as Gwendolyn Wilson, a recent graduate of the University of Liberia also died while three other persons,  Prince Gbatoe, Carlos Edison and Aaron Cassell are currently in critical condition undergoing treatment.

“The LNP will subsequently release statement to the public when it has fully concluded its investigation”.

Reports say the driver of the truck involved in the accident is on the run.

Before his death on Sunday evening between the hours of 11 to 12 am, representative Adolph Lawrence had his last interview with Legislative Reporters at his capitol building office Thursday March 21, 2019.

He was known for his critical role played during regular sitting in the Houses’s plenary.

The death of representative Lawrence brings the number of two deaths in less than a year at the Liberian Legislature.

In February 2019, the death news of Montserrado County senator Geraldine Doe Sheriff hit the nation, following a period of illness.

As a result of the two vacant seats at the Liberian legislature, the CDC-Led government is now challenge to conduct two By-elections to fill the current vacancies.
