The Minister of State for Presidential Affairs Nathaniel McGill says the Government of Liberia will hold responsible leaders of opposition political parties if the June 7 planned Protest orchestrated by opposition supporters turn chaotic in the country.
Some aggrieved Liberians are planning a protest for June 7 to request the government of football legend George Weah to address some of their demands.
Speaking to OK NEWS in Paynesville Sunday, Minister McGill accused leaders of the opposition collaborating parties of being behind planned June 7 protest.
He stated that the government will provide the enabling environment for the protesters to channel their grievances but will not condone any acts that undermine the country’s peace.
According to him, the government is not afraid of any protest, noting that the CDC led government was elected by the popular mandate of the Liberian People.
He assured that the Government of President George Weah will remain in power for the 12 years.
The only development they are bring to the Country is protest. More than five protest have been organized since this government took power and we can guaranteed the protesters.
However, let them know that his government was elected to protect lives, properties and to sustain the peace.
So, while your right to protest is guarantee, but what is not guarantee is for you to break the law.
This is about political parties that we know are behind this plan protest.
We are saying if anything goes wrong, we will hold the opposition collaborating political parties.
At the same time, Minister Nathaniel McGill disclosed that government is making frantic efforts to addressing some major problems that the country has since been confronted to thus calling on Liberians to remain patience.
