Police Boss threatens actions against malpractices amongst officers

BY  VARNEY DUKULY

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Police Inspector General Patrick Sudue has vowed to take stringent measures against police officers who will subject the Liberia National Police to public ridicule.

Speaking Monday to this station IG Sudue stated that he will name and shame officers who are caught in act that runs contrary to professional policing.

The Police Boss said officers involved in drunkenness, bribery, drug consumption among other negative vices will be seriously dealt with.

According to him, officers caught misusing firearms will seize to carry guns under his administration.

Commenting further the Police Inspector General then stressed the importance of increasing the numerical strength of the force.

He said, currently the ratio is at eight hundred civilians to one police officer, a situation he said is responsible for the many problems facing the security sector.
