President Weah pays real estate taxes through mobile money tax payment service

Monrovia,Liberia: President George Weah has admonished Liberians to contribute to the country’s fiscal envelope by being tax compliant.

President Weah said payment of taxes can boost revenue generation as well as aid the country realize the right kind of infrastructure development.

At the officially launched of the LRA mobile tax payment platform Thursday, the Liberian Leader used the occasion by being the first in paying his real property tax through the mobile tax payment platform.

He however commended the LRA for instituting measures that enhance the participation of Liberians in paying their taxes.

The LRA Commissioner General,  Madam Elfrieda Stewart Tamba said the launched of the platform is intended to encourage voluntary compliance through payment of taxes.

According to Madam Tamba, such mobile tax platform created will alleviate some constraints faced by Liberians when paying their lawful revenue.

Also at the occasion was  USAID Mission Director Anthony Chan, who  expressed joy for the mobile tax platform something he stated will enable the Liberian Government achieve the needed developmental initiatives.
