Representative Yekeh Kolubah Eyes Montserrado Senatorial Seat

Monrovia,Liberia: A member of the legislature, Representative Yekeh Koluba has been petitioned to contest the senatorial by-election in Montserrado County.

Representative Koluba, who represents Montserrado District # 10 in the 54th Legislature, was petitioned during the weekend by a group calling itself Concerned Citizens of Montserrado.

In their petition statement, the group said Yekeh since his election to the post of representative; he has undertaken several development projects in his district.

The group named the periodic cleaning and electrification of the Oldroad Market, financial assistance to community based organizations, the fight against illicit substances, and the rehabilitation of major neighborhood roads as some of his initiatives.

The Concerned group indicated that Representative Koluba is the only person who they believe can serve as the best replacement for former Senator now president, George Weah.

According to the concerned group, the lawmaker’s vision for the country should not be limited to a district, but the entire county.

David Gonowolo is the Spokesman of the group. He read the petition statement when Representative Koluba held an appreciation program for the people of his district having voted him.

Responding to the petition on the Oldroad, Yekeh told the petitioners that he would officially respond this week following consultations.
