Monrovia,Liberia: House Speaker Dr. Bhofal Chambers has emphasized the need for the protection of human rights in the country.

Dr. Chambers said Human rights are moral principles that describe certain standards of human behavior, and are regularly protected as legal rights in municipal and international law.

The Liberia Speaker made the statement on Wednesday,  at the official launch of a project to conduct baseline study for structural provision of Human Rights education to the Liberia National Police.

He noted that crisis issues across the world are the result of ignoring the rights of others.

According to him, respect for human rights protects nations from engaging into conflict with each other.

The program was graced by authorities of the Independent National Commission on Human Rights, the Liberia National Police, the Legislature and Foreign partners.
