Employing Entities To Regularize The Status of Alien Employees Before 31st March 2018

 

Monrovia, Liberia-Labor Minister Moses Kollie says the ministry has already instituted several actions that will further promote and uphold the implementation of the Decent Work Act of 2015.

Minister Moses Kollie told reporters Tuesday, that the ministry has given one month ultimatum to all employers to regularize the status of their alien employees on or before the 31st of March 2018.

According to him, the ultimatum will be followed by a vigorous joint inspection of all employment institutions to ascertain whether they are in full compliance with the Decent Work Act of 2015.

He stated that the joint inspection team will include the Ministry of Labor, the Liberia Revenue Authority and the Liberia Immigration Service.

The Labor Minister however added that the pending inspections will not only focus on work permit but also key compliance issues including the work environment, employee safety, salary structures and fair treatment among others.
