Monrovia-The African Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (AFRICAN CDC) based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and National Public Health Institutes (NPHIs) from the continent have converged in Monrovia for a two day forum to deliberate on data warehousing, sharing and timely use for public health impact.
The two-day forum is intended to enhance data acquisition, warehousing and use by participating National Public Health Institutes (NPHIs) in Africa and five regional coordinating centers in South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Mozambique and Namibia.
At the start of the forum in Monrovia Monday, National Public Health Institute of Liberia Director General Tolbert Nyenswah said such gathering was important as Liberia is building a resilient health system in Liberia.
He told delegates attending forum that Liberia has made enormous gains judging from the fight against the deadly Ebola Virus in Liberia.
Also Speaking the Country Director of the United States Center for Disease Control and Prevention D. John Nkengasong expressed joy for the collaboration among public health institutions through the sharing of data collection.
