“Ailing Liberian Seeks Humanitarian Intervention”

A 32 year old ailing Liberian is appealing to government and humanitarian organizations to come to his aid.

Romeo A. Sheriff, a citizen of Grand Cape Mount County told an OK FM interview Tuesday in Monrovia that he had a motor accident in 2017 while transiting between Kinjor and Bo Waterside.

Sheriff said he was rushed to a clinic in Grand Cape Mount County following the accident.

The ailing man mentioned that he was later taken to the St. Joseph Catholic Hospital for further medical examinations.

Sheriff narrated that he was told he’s experiencing clutch in his blood vessel, adding doctor recommended Daflon tablet.

“I was riding a motorbike from Kinjor to Bo Waterside when the bike mistakenly felt. In the process I also broke one of my teeth. When I got to Catholic Hospital in Monrovia, the doctor said I have blood clutch, and so he prescribed Daflon to take every day”.

Sheriff informed the interview that he started the treatment for few days, but was discontinued due to the lack of money. He said the tablet is sold US$15.00 per script containing 15 pieces.

“They told me to take three tablets every day. I took the medicine for few days, but I stopped it because I could not afford money to continue buying it”.

The ailing man is appealing to government and humanitarian organizations to intervene in his situation by sending him abroad for treatment.

Note: An aspiring medical doctor; an experienced Physician Assistant tells me- “the scar on Sheriff’s skin is indicative of keloids. That is indicative of necrotic cellulitis. It predisposes him to inflammation”.
