Monrovia-BBC correspondent in Liberia, Jonathan Paylayleh has returned home following weeks of medical treatment in the United States of America contrary to report that he was seeking asylum.
Recently, the departure of the BBC stringer from the country was misconstrued in the public with many pointing accusing fingers at the CDC led government of forcing the journalist into exile.
Paylayleh, who had bitter exchanges with President George Weah prior to leaving, wrote a communication to the Press Union of Liberia informing it of the need to seek medical treatment abroad.
Meanwhile, the government of Liberia has welcomed the return of Jonathan Paylaleh into the country.
Paylayleh, who arrived in Liberia Tuesday through the Roberts International Airport was also extended olive branch by the government of Liberia.
In conversation with this station Tuesday, Deputy information Minister for Public Affairs Eugene Fahngon said government will do everything possible to protect the lives of all journalists especially Jonathan Paylayleh.
