Monrovia-The House of Representatives has cited authorities of Sime Darby Company and Labor following the company’s reported torturing of a Liberian who allegedly stole a bunch of palm nut from their facilities.

The House’s decision is predicated upon a media report in which the Liberian Citizen was seen toting a bunch of palm nut after being tied from the back.

Speaker Bhofal Chambers told plenary Tuesday that the report claimed the attention of the leadership, thereby calling for a conference in order to arrest the situation.

Dr. Chambers maintained that the leadership committee has since requested the appearance of the management after the Police Inspector General confirmed the torture.

According to the Speaker, the appearance could allow legislators have an understanding of the inhumane treatment meted against a Liberian citizen.
