Monrovia-Patients with Leprosy at the Suakoko Rehabilitation and Reintegration Center in Bong County have alarmed over the lack of adequate medications aimed at improving their welfare.

The Lepers have also complained of the lack of timely provision of food, better shelter facilities and other needed materials at the center.

According to the leprosy patients, their lives are in danger, adding that they are currently living in a difficult situation.

The leprosy patients told our reporter that they continue to suffer because present and past government administrations have failed to listen to their plights.

They have meanwhile launched an immediate appeal to the Liberian Government for urgent assistance.

Government is yet to respond to the leper patients.

The center was established during the regime of former preside William vs Tubman to host lepers.

It can be recalled that during the regime of former bong county health officer Dr. Sampson Arzouakoi Phebe residence was barracade by the lepers headed by a son of the district Steve kennedy before the 2011 elections on demand for better health conditions.

Meanwhile the initiative to renovate the lepers home was later done by an international NGO operated by a son of the county name Kwatekeh Africa, a project the lepers and their dependents appreciate.
