MONROVIA: President George Weah says no form of envy from the Opposition Community can undermine the CDC’s Pro-Poor Agenda for Prosperity and Development.
President Weah revealed that those criticizing his government are rather elevating the CDC’s Pro-Poor agenda.
He added that government pro- poor development seeks to elevate the less fortunate Liberians by delivering on their hopes and aspirations.
The Liberian leader was speaking Monday, when he officially dedicated the Doe Community to Clara town road project in district 14, Montserrado County.
President Weah added that, the CDC administration is not to make news, but rather identify prevailing challenges faced by ordinary citizens whilst providing solutions.
“Those saying that nothing will come Gibratar are the people that check my everyday move, and they make me successful. Because, the more you criticise me or my Government, the more we become elevated and nothing you can do to Sabotage this Pro-Poor Agenda.”
President Weah urged residents of Doe and Clara town communities to maintain the road for their benefits.
President George Weah further disclosed that he is not an enemy of the Press as misconstrued by some Liberians.
President Weah maintained that a media outlets and individuals with independence will continue to benefit from government support rather than those bent on negative propaganda.
“I was supported by the Press. So, the Press is not my enemy. And, if you work for a fair living, you earn more benefits; but if you work to undermine people, than your wages will be lower,” said President Weah.
Several residents of Doe Community have expressed mix reactions over the pavement of the road project.
In conversation with OK FM during the dedication, some of the Doe Community residents further called on President Weah to continue the fulfillment of his promises made to the Liberians, while others believed the road is not concrete and durable.
Meanwhile, Public Works Minister Mabutu Nyepan says the completion of the Doe Community road project represents an indelible monument dedicated to the quest of lifting citizens out of poverty.
Minister Nyepan said though the assignment of the road project was challenging especially during the rainy season, residents of Doe community are now experiencing the true meaning of the Pro-Poor Agenda.
While describing the dedication as a dream come through, the Liberian Public Works Minister maintains the Ministry is committed to ensure that no failure is attached to achievements of President Weah and the CDC Government.
Minister Mabutu Nyepan further informed the General public that major construction works are ongoing at other project sites earmarked for pavement.
Also speaking was Finance Minister Samuel Tweh, who said Country’s road problems will be solved within the next four years.
The Liberian finance Minister at the same time applauded Liberians who are committed to paying their taxes for needed developments in the Country.
