Margibi County senator Oscar Cooper says the three branches of government are not fulfilling the will and pleasure of the people of Liberia as indicated in the constitution of Liberia, justifying while he supports the upcoming June 7 planned protest in the country.
Speaking to legislative reporters on Capitol Hill Monday, April 23, 2019, Senator Cooper accused members of the Legislature of passing bogus legislations, concession agreements, and are in the constant habit of violating the standing rules and procedures of the Liberia Senate.
Senator Cooper made reference to the Kabineh Ja’neh case describing it as a complete loss of independence from the Judiciary presided over by the Chief Justice of the republic of Liberia.
If the three branches of government are not fulfilling the will and pleasure of the Liberian people as in the constitution, then, we need to protest against the ills, the mismanagement of the people’s resources.
This is impeding the development of this Country.
We are passing concession agreement, bills that have not gone through the real standing rules of legislature.
To the Kabineh Case, the Judiciary has completely loss it independence presided by the Chief Justice.
At the same time, senator cooper has accused Senate Pro-tempore Albert of passing and ratifying legislations that was never discussed in plenary by members of the Liberian senate.
Senator Cooper also made direct reference to the new Traffic Management agreement ACT that he said was withdrawn when President George Weah became president and was later sent back to the senate for review, something he accused senate Pro-Tempt Albert Chie passed the same day without abiding by the rules of the senate.
Meanwhile, the Margibi county senator has given reason while he support the upcoming June 7 protest is the country, something he said will bring the three branches of government to attention to things that are not well with this country under presidency of George Weah.
At the same time, senator cooper wants members of the council of churches to start preaching for the people of Liberia in their churches for the ills against the people of Liberia.
I am with the match because, we need to bring the attention of three branches of Government that things are not going well with this country.
It takes time to change something’ no one must be fool that one protest can change something.
Senator cooper is encouraging people from across the country to come out in the numbers and protest for their rights against the skyrocketing rate, the infused 25 million in the economy to mobbed-up extra liquidity nothing that the people who are using the Liberian dollars are yet to experience any change in the economy.
