Liberia’s Vice President Jewel Howard Taylor is calling for dialogue ahead of a planned protest in Liberia.
A group dubbed Council of Patriots comprising mainly of opposition politicians and activists, including Darius Dillon and Henry Costa, has threatened to stage a peaceful protest in Monrovia on the 7th of July, 2019.
Those behind the planned protest are said not to be happy with the manner the country is being governed under the CDC-led government.
But Madam Howard-Taylor believes dialogue will be the best option in understanding the challenges the country is going through.
The Vice President said Liberians need to be careful in finding solution to the country’s problem.
I believe we should dialogue with the plan protesters, identify the challenges we are having and find ways to solve them.
I think all Liberians want a peace for Liberia.
Democracy is a process, and I hope we can look at our Country first, and make sure that nobody does anything that outs us in a negative position.
I would just like to say that I was elected on a ticket by the Liberian people; I will continue to do my very best to support the aspiration for which we got elected.
