VP Taylor re-echoes need for women participation in Government

Monrovia-Vice President Jewel Howard Taylor has reechoed the need for more women participation in decision making processes of the country.

According to VP Taylor, the current women lawmakers at the National Legislature are far less as compared to the number of women who previously served legislature thus expressing the need for women participation.

She said though there are challenges faced by women but they must do their best to break the male dominance at the legislature.

Speaking at the induction ceremony of new officials of the women legislative caucus Tuesday, the Liberia Vice President called on the new leadership to always seek women interest at the national legislature.

For her part, the new chairperson of the Women Legislative Caucus, Representative Rosanna Schaack commended her colleagues for her preferment to serve as chairperson of the leadership.

Madam Schaack noted that leadership will seek to champion the cause of women in cardinal decision making processes at the legislature.

Meanwhile, House Speaker Bhofal Chambers assured the new leadership that the legislature will ensure that the rights of women are respected at all times.
