Speaking to our reporter at her private farm in Julijuah Town during the weekend, Former President Sirleaf said her quest to carry on the construction of hand pumps and town halls is to assist citizens of the County with decent sitting facilities and safe drinking water.
The former Liberian leader added that the construction of hand pumps and town halls is meant to create short term jobs for citizens in the County.
Speaking further, Madam Sirleaf said she is also involved in agriculture which also creates jobs for citizens in the County.
Ex – President Sirleaf disclosed that her agriculture projects have already begun harvesting.
She named, Palm, Rice, and several other Vegetables amongst other crops that are currently harvesting and exporting while some are sold to the Sime Darby Palm Oil Company.
“I’m glad to begin harvesting produce from my agriculture farm, which am now exporting and selling to some agriculture companies in the Country”
Madam Sirleaf also used the medium to call on Liberians to get involved in agriculture activities, if Liberia should get better.
Meanwhile, the former Liberian leader also expressed regrets for not paving major roads in Bomi, including the road leading to Julijuah, her home town, stating that she was avoiding county sentiment in her development drive, while serving as President.
Former President Johnson Sirleaf believes development in the country should not be based on county sentiments as resources in the country belong to all counties.
She notes, the Julijuah road project was won by a road construction company SSF under a pre-financed agreement with payment to be made in seven years after completion.
Sirleaf hopes on the CDC led government to fund the Julijuah road project to completion like other road project in the country.
She at the same time extends July 26 independence greetings to her fellow citizens in Bomi and called on Liberians to maintain the Country’s peace.
