The group wants an independent body to probe the report.
In addition to Global Witness call, the Center for Transparency and Accountability in Liberia (CENTAL) is also calling for the recusal of Justice Minister, Musa Dean from investigating recent Gbobal Witness Report on Liberia.
Recently, President Weah instructed Justice Minister Dean to investigate the matter and submit a preliminary report within two weeks.
Speaking to in Monrovia Monday, the Head of CENTAL, Anderson Miamen said the new Liberia’s Justice Minister was involved with the oil dealings in Liberia during the period under review.
Miamen said such matter has conflict of interest, noting the involvement of the Justice Minister into the matter has the propensity to undermine the integrity and independence of the investigation.
