MONDAY: The Liberia Football Association has placed a one year suspension on two players of Nimba United and a six month suspension on the Head Coach of the club for violating of the rules and regulations governing the LFA 2018 National League.
According to a release from the LFA, player Michael Fahnbulleh physically attached and assaulted a player of LPRC Oilers after he was shown a red card for violent conduct doing the Nimba United versus LRC Oilers league match played at the North Star Stadium in Mount Barclay on September 26, 2018.
Player Darlington Failey in the same match also attacked and used abusive language on the match Referee Christopher Nylander after he was shown a red card for violent conduct after immediately after the match.
Both players Fahnbulleh and Failey of Nimba united have been suspended with immediate effect for one year from all football activities.
Nimba United Head Coach Christopher Wreh has also been suspended for six months for insulting match officials after he was given the marching order.
“These actions as exhibited by the coach and players of Nimba United are in violation of the LFA 2018 national League Rules and Regulations; Chapter 20,Article 24, section 1.5a and section 1.5”, the LFA release stated.
Section1.5a states that any player or club official who shall assault a match official or LFA official before, during and after the match shall face the following penalties:
Section1.5 states any club official who shall insult/abuse or castigate a match official or LFA Official before, during and after a match shall be suspended for six(6)months for the first offence, one(1)year for the second offence and two(2)years for the third offence and banned from all LFA activities for any further offence.
