National Muslim Youth Wing Calls for Muslim Holiday in Liberia

Monrovia,Liberia: Authorities of the National Muslim Council Youth Wing have called on government to include Muslim Holidays in the country’s national calendar.

The Council Chairman and Secretary General, Moses Nemour and Lassan Kamara recollected the numerous Christian holidays observed in Liberia.

Amidst their call, Liberia currently celebrates Fast and Prayer day, Thanksgiving Day among other days centered on Christendom.

Moses  and Lassana Kamara used article 14 of the 1986 constitution as reliance.

Nemour and Kamara maintained that no one religion surpasses the other and that all have equal rights.

They wonder why Muslims will continue to celebrate Christian holidays when said is not reciprocal to them.

The two Muslim Youths added that Liberia as per its constitution is a secular state.
