Monrovia: In the wake of delayed salary payment by the Weah government, the Executive Mansion Chief of Protocol Madam Fenda Bondo was seen Monday distributing five thousand Liberian dollars each to several disadvantaged youths in the country.
The distribution which was done at the Antoinette Tubman Sports Stadium in Monrovia attracted several disadvantaged youths popularly known as Zogoes who were heard hailing the President for the gesture.
OK FM understands that the money was the President’s way of saying ‘Happy JULY 26’ to the disadvantaged youths in Liberia.
Despite the goodwill, several civil servants in the Weah-led government are complaining of delay in their salaries and allowances for the past two months.
The Montserrado by-elections have also been postponed by the National Elections Commission citing lack of funding.
It remains unclear where the money given the Zogoes has been generated from.
The Zogoes who embraced the President’s gesture through the Chief of Protocol vowed to vote candidates on the CDC’s ticket in the Montserrado County By-elections expected to take place the 29th of this month.
I am happy for President George Manneh Weah. We appreciate him for the little concern he show to us for the 26. We pray that he continue to do more for us.
In life, you will always accept criticism. The president should expect criticism because; the opposition got to put his feet to the fire so he can be able to work hard.
So, we pray that the president should always remember us and we will vote for his candidates. The two CDC candidates, we will make sure the two CDC candidates win the elections. We will vote for them hundred percent.
