Several citizens in Bong have lauded President George Weah for lifting the suspension of the county Superintendent Esther Walker.
President Weah during the weekend lifted the suspension of Bong County Superintendent Esther Walker.
She was suspended in February 2019 after a leaked audio recording of her had gone viral on social media.
President Weah has meanwhile relieved Agriculture Minister, Dr. Mogana Flomo of his post with immediate effect, and designated Deputy Agriculture Minister for Administration, Precious Tetteh to act pending the appointment of a new minister.
The Liberian leader also dismissed the Director-General of the Central Agricultural Research Institute in Bong County, Dr. Marcus Jones while Paulette Findley, Administrative Manager, will serve as Officer-in-Charge at CARI.
But speaking to our Bong County Correspondent during the weekend, the Bong citizens termed the president’s decision to reinstate Madam Walker as a wise decision.
However, many workers of the Central Agricultural Research Institute, CARI in Bong County also voiced out their appreciation to President Weah for dismissing CARI’s Director General Marcus Jones.
It can be recalled several workers of CARI recently threatened go-slow action at the institution for what they termed as delay in provision of their salary, as well as the alleged rampant corruption.
At the same time, the Bong citizens have further frowned at President Weah’s decision to relieve Agriculture Minister Dr. Mogana Flomo of his post.
The citizens termed as an embarrassment, the president’s decision to relieve Dr. Flomo of his post while the minister is representing the Liberian government on a foreign trip.
