Monrovia,Liberia:The National Under-20 Team of Liberia has begun preparation for the WAFU/FOX U-20 Tournament with a pool of 54 players to justify their inclusion.
A release from the LFA said the host nation began vetting of potential U-20 players on Monday, March 26, 2018 at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium in Central Monrovia.
The Head Coach of the National Under-20 Team said the vetting exercise will run for 5 days and 25 players are expected to be selected who meet the technical standard set by his technical staff.
The release quotes former Liberian international Christopher Wreh as saying the final 25 players will then begin intensive preparation at the George Weah Technical Center and SKD Sports Complex respectively.
Coach Wreh said the players have been draw from local clubs in all divisions of Liberian football and said he hopes to get the best 25 out of the 54 players in the pool.
Liberia is has been granted the hosting right of the WAFU/FOX U-20 Tournament that will run from April 24 to May 6, 2018 at the S.K.D. Sports Complex in Paynesville City, Liberia.
