Man beaten to death for delay in payment of 100 Liberian dollars debt

Police in Nimba County have arrested a man identified as Sampson Mehn for allegedly flogging his friend to death, over delay in the payment of one hundred Liberian dollars debt.

The incident is said to have occurred Wednesday night in the valley Community of Ganta.

According to reports, suspect Sampson Mehn had gone to the residence of the deceased known as Lawrence Gonwoe, in demand for his one hundred dollars allegedly owed him by the deceased.

An eyewitness, Levi Zorh, who explained to police, said during the encounter between the two, he immediately assisted Lawrence Gonwoe to pay back Sampson’s hundred dollars debt.

Levi told police investigation that suspect Sampson Mehn received his money on behalf of the late Lawrence Gonwoe and both the suspect along with the deceased left the house and moved in separate locations.

OK FM Nimba County correspondent, Franklin Doloque reports that the deceased later died at the Esther and Jereline Medical Center in Gompa City.
