President Weah assures Government’s Commitment to Press Freedom

Monrovia,Liberia:President George Weah has assured Media Executives of his government’s continued support to Press Freedom in the Country.

The Liberia Leaders said it is time to collectively support freedom of the Press, human rights, noting that it will serve as a pathway to development, progress and democracy after years of turmoil in the country.

Speaking at a meeting with some Media Executives, the President expressed profound gratitude to media executive for expressing their grievance- noting that the government is not at war with the press.

The President also used the occasion to cautioned media petitioners to be mindful with content placed on social media.

President Weah is also calling on the media to encourage the BBC reporter Jonathan Paye-Laye to return to the country; adding that he has nothing anything against the reporter.
